New York AG Sues NYPD, NYC Over Alleged Excessive Force Against Floyd Protesters

New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a lawsuit on Thursday against the New York City police department and city officials over their treatment of protesters during the riots and demonstrations following George Floyd’s death. James alleged in a complaint in a federal court that officers from the NYPD had used excessive force and other tactics to control protesters and crowds during the protests against police brutality mid-last year.
